You may have a broken hanger (or two).

My one-ball was doing similar things... it ended up being that the muffler hanger, way up top, had OMG I FARTED snapped in two.
While you are under there, try moving/wiggling/shaking the entire system... I hear that the rubber mounts have been known to snap or tear as well.

Update:

Well the problem went from bad to, got to fix now! One of the hangers broke at the muffler and that cracked the header at the cat. Long story short; went for a custom set up 2.5" pipe with a magnaflow center muffler and oval tip. Pics to follow.

Well yes it is loud but surprisingly at 70 on the freeway it's just a little louder than stock. I have rolled past Anaheim and Orange PD  and not been stopped. Only during acceleration and holding a lower gear does it get loud. The S2k guys at my job love it. I do miss the sound of the supercharger. Next on the list a Dinan cold air intake. Maybe a trip through the Sulpulveda tunnel at LAX. :)

"Just a little louder than stock?"  ;ll ;ll You must have quite a hearing deficit. :dk  The Magnaflow is too loud for me. ;pf I hope you enjoy it, though. ;dv

Ok it's embarrassingly loud and yes I have suffered some hearing loss in my right ear from loud music. One unexpected benefit is I am getting better gas mileage to about 3 or 4 miles more per gallon so I would count that as a plus. just a minor tweak and I will be happy.
