New Functionality - November 2008
« on: Sun Nov 09 '08, 12:50:02 PM »
Well we finally got ourselves upgraded to a decently fast server - we are now hosted by 1and1.com - if you need fast and relatively inexpensive hosting, this site certainly shows how good they are !

cncpics.com, our benefactor continues to pay the hosting bills, with no change to that arrangement.

However, our new fast server allows us to offer a better range of facilities.

You will notice that there are now three changes

1) a CHAT button - this is a link to a chatroom - real-time chatting open only to registered users. Try it out - there are often people in there in the evening

2) A Gallery button ! - Yes you can now upload images to a communal gallery - until I get the code fixed, TT or I have to approve any uploads - this is a tad experimental as I am still wrestling with the code a litte.

3) Additional indicators - You can now see who is chatting in the chat room at the bottom of the main page....

As usual - if you have any issues, post up in the tech support forum.....

Finally, an un-announced option is available.......

@coopernation.net e-mail forwards

This is not an actual e-mail, but a facility that I can setup on-demand.

for example......

The e-mail address maxn@xcoopernation.net forwards e-mail to my home e-mail address.

I can give out the maxn@coopernation.net e-mail and any e-mail sent to it will arrive at home

I can set these up for anyone that asks.

BUT

1) You must be a registered user
2) Your e-mail forward will be your  username @ coopernation.net

Otherwise it will break the scripts that I am creating to do this automagically in the future.

oh and real POP/SMTP or IMAP accounts can be setup, but will require a donation to the hosting fund !  :wh
