This is a thread to post stuff that made you smile today.

As a starter.....

As I drove in to the office the traffic magically parted as I reached the off-ramp, which is a fast, fast, fast, wonderfully cambered, fast flat one.

I turned in at freeway speeds and accelerated through it.

Awesome !

Made me smile all the way up to the third level of the parking lot.....

A nice, well-traveled and highly-educated gal who visited my mother-in-law wanted to know who did the two paintings in her guest room. I painted them about 20 years ago. The gal told my MIL that she couldn't take her eyes off of them, and complimented them.

Me: IT Dept this is Mike
Dir: Mike this is the CBO Director
Me: Yes sir. How can I help you this morning?
Dir: I just wanted to follow up on some moves in the CBO
Me: Well sir to be honest I am the only one in so far this morning and this week we are short staffed but as soon as I can get coverage I will attend to the moves

Dir: Oh don't worry about it, I told the Manager not to move the people and to find another solution with regards to her issue
Me:

Understood sir, anything else I can assist with today?
Dir: No thank you Mike, sorry for the trouble

Ring ring
Me: IT Dept this is Mike

Mgr: Mike I wanted to apologize for my attitude earlier, I think it best that we leave the staff in the previously assigned seats and I will find another way to manage the teams performance.

Me: Sounds like a plan, anything else I can assist you with?

Mgr: No thank you.

I love it when someone thinks that because they have a title they can exert some unseen mystical power and get what they want only to be slapped in the face by reality.

Just a beautiful day at the woods, breezy, 70 and partly cloudy, low humidity. Oh yeah, got to watch a tiny hummingbird follow a downy woodpecker around. Saw this off and on 4 or 5 different times today. Whatever tree the woodpecker was pecking on the hummingbird was hovering around and checking out the new holes - never seen anything like it before. Yes, I'm easily amused.

I wonder if the hummingbird wants to use the little pecker holes (oh my, there's a nice phrase) to hide in?

I didn't have to work today, Instead I drove to Oregon. I now have the next 11 days off in arow.

I met one of my artist gal-pals for lunch in Santa Monica. We hadn't seen each other for more than a year, so it was fun to catch up! Beautiful day at the beach!
