ok, cookies deleted, history deleted, firefox restarted... and the text still blips in and out, altho not completely- just blips now. Before, I was typing blind... oops, spoke too soon, nust went away- now back, gone again.... crud-

Howdy TT,
Just wanted to let you know that my type is still disappearing on me, altho it's not as bad as it was. I can almost toplerate it if no one minds typos...

on anohter item, this is almost perfect, but I found a small thing that could yous a a tweak... the page numbers at teh bottom of the page- tehy're very faint, so I don't realize I"ve not made it to the emd of the thread or not... any chance we could have those in a darker color?

I am having a hard time finding out what your problem could be TN. It's not a mac thing since happens on one mac but not the other. UGH. I won't give up trying though Oh My goodness!! I just farted!!.

I can fix the page numbers at the bottom to be darker. They do need to be I agree. It will be easy. I just have to find the code which takes me a bit longer but once I do by golly I will be all over it

I got your PM from the other day oxtox but not the one you just sent. I just sent you a test PM & I show it in my outbox so let me know if you got it

Also I was having a bit of trouble when I set up this board theme initially in setting the default member settings. I think I was just able to reset everyone to the basic things like returning to the post after posting, saving PM's in your outbox by default, using the new (NAM-like) WYSIWYG text posting editor, use sidebar menu when possible, don't warn on new replies when posting, & show popup on PM. Those are the only 5 settings I turned on for everyone.

WYSIWYG = What You See is What You Get so essentially instead of seeing all the code in your post before posting it you should immediately see how it will look as you type (just like at NAM). A few things have to be done differently but I think you will catch on quickly

Basically I just told the board to take away everyone's current settings & use the ones I selected (will also apply to any new members). If I reset anything to a way you do not like it you can always uncheck that box & do it however you want. Sorry for you having to do that but I wanted to get most everyone back to the settings I think the majority used on CN 2.0 & I also wanted to get y'all using the new text editor.

To change your settings in any way you like look in your profile>>Look & Layout & also look in personal messaging. Those are the only 2 areas that I changed the settings on for the whole board

When did you do the change? Reason I ask is cause no the diaappearing type is worse than it was...

I can't think f wwaht would cause thiss... I'm not having this problem anywhere else- in any other forums (even my stupid yaoo forums) or in eamil ... nowhere else..
as long as y'all don't mind my typos, I will suffer thru this- it's hard to correct my spelling when I'm looking at a blank reply box... the type only blinks back on for a second before disappearing again...

Your laptop & desktop are both macs & only your laptop experiences this problem? Correct?

One thing to try. Try your profile>>look & layout... uncheck show WYSIWYG editor & see if that helps

yup, it's still disappearing. I'll go back and take the wysiwyg bbc & smileys off too... see if that helps.

yes, only happens on my laptop. both desktop & laptop are up to date with updates, both I use firefox...

I just did something kinda cool. May have been available on CN 2.0 dunno but... Go to your PM Inbox & click the little thingie circled in red (shown in the attached pic) or you can do it in your PROFILE>>PERSONAL MESSAGING & your can put a check in the box by "Show most recent personal messages at top".

It will put your most recent PM on top of the list. Kinda cool, well I like it, but it's really a matter of personal preference

Also try turning off the quick editor while you are tweaking & see if that does anything...

So in fixing it we learned that you are able to use WYSIWYG on regular reply but not quick reply? If that is correct I will still go report it as a possible bug over at SMF

Keep in mind we are GASP

using the "Beta" version of the new SMF 2.0. The new version is quite tested but still not 100% approved for public use yet. I figured WTF

since I was having to change so much & inconvenience everyone from the getgo... we may as well go ahead & get the switch to the new version over with cause either way it was coming soon

when I do use it, I get the famous (infamous?) disappearing text... Like now... like typing a ghost post...

I can't post from my iphone either

Never have been able to since I changed us to SMF 2.0 on the new server. I know it's not the server because I can post from my iphone at my other site hosted on the same server. I have a question in at tech support about it.

There is a MOD I can add that has a special look for iphones. May try to add it but I dunno if I will have time this weekend.

Patti I dunno what that could be. Hasn't happened to me yet. Try going to your profile>>LOOK & LAYOUT... then either check or uncheck the box beside "Show most recent posts at the top" (do the opposite of what is done now), Click the change profile button. Then go back & either check or uncheck it (make it however you prefer, most recent on top or not) then click change profile & see if that clears it all up

Maybe it's the full moon
